Breed

Standard Schnauzers are a German breed dating back to the 15th century.

They are awesome companion and family dog, and were also used in Army and Police work as well as a farm/stable dog to rat catcher. They are classified as a “working dog” and must be exercised regularly.
 

If groomed properly, they are a non-shedding breed, even when clipped they are extremely low in shedding.

 

Considered to be healthy breed with a life span of 13-15 years.
